Energy Performance Certificates

From October 1st 2008 most residential properties provided for residential or commercial letting must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate.

An EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) provides an energy rating for your property in its current condition and also a potential rating if certain energy saving measures are undertaken. The overall assessment is based on a sliding scale of A-G where A is the highest level (i.e. the most efficient) and G (the least efficient).

Landlords can undertake many initiatives to significantly improve the EPC rating of their property.  Simple and inexpensive measures such as using low energy light bulbs and installing good loft and cavity wall insulation all help to lower the rating substantially.  More costly yet efficient energy improvements would be the replacement of old central heating boilers for the modern condensing variety and the installation of solar water heating where practical.

Letwithease.com can provide Energy Performance Certificates swiftly, efficiently and at minimal cost to landlords.  Prices are an extremely competitive £55.00 plus VAT regardless of the size of your property.
